I know that we as people sometimes struggle with following the leading of the Holy Spirit but we must remember that we will one day stand before HIM to give an account. I have had to do things in my Christian walk that have caused others to be hurt or disappointed (like my son) that have not been easy but the rewards that I have reaped have been so much greater. I just want to encourage everyone to follow the Lord in every thing He leads you to, without having to understand it first, and one day you will be thankful for listening to Him and for following Him. Our walk with the Lord is not always easy but it calls for sacrifice. But....He will give us more in return than we ever sacrificed. Better to obey God than man. Blessings my friends.
Yes, waiting until it's clear is a stumblig block as wellas trying tofix eeverything so we can present ourselves as perfect to him...we can not do that, we can't even begin to be our new selves UNTIL we walk with Him. I have said...Father I don't know if I actually believe this , help me...I am no longer afraid to approach him with my insecurites showing because He knows them all anyway so I press in and faith grows ...doubt turns into knowing ...but this is all happening to me now so I am uncertain about a lot but I know I am with Him on my way.
I'll tell ya I just LOVE this site...Thank you Lord for leading me here.
For many years I had no idea that I could or should follow the Holy Spirit, I thought it was a sign of strength to be in independent and in control....HA!....control is not what I had at all but rather stress, burdens and confusion...once I started submitting I could feel the burdens lifting being replaced with confidence and trust that now I was on my true path...
i do not believe that our obedience to the holy spirit should be for our own reaping of benefits but rather for the souls in which are involved. jesus did not do anything for himself but for us he did all things that we could see and believe. he would have been in heaven regardless.
I agree. Our obedience to the Holy Spirit should not be for the benefits we reap. But when we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit & someone gets saved, healed or delivered, I do reap the benefit of joy. I also reap peace instead of stress & turmoil when I follow the leading of the Holy Spirit instead of man. I think you may have misunderstood what I was saying. Bless you.
yes i did. sorry, it is true that we are blessed when we follow the leading of the holy spirit. i do apologize, i am just so used to people claiming christ because they have been taught the wrong motives. thats not an excuse it is the truth though.
I too agree that sometimes it is a struggle to follow the Leadership n Guidance of the Holy Spirit until i got to a moment in my life where i was tired of running ! I'm currently living in Twentynine Palms , California where i absolutely do not want to be until i came to the realization thats it's not my will but the Lord's Will that shall be done in my life ! My husband is currently serving in Afghanistan till the end of November n may have to go on another seven month deployment next year to Iraq !!! It is very uncomfortable just being down here by myself raising two toddlers on my own n tryin' to cater to my husband as well - It's a lot to handle everyday !!! I call this my wilderness experience ! I have to go through it to gain wisdom n knowledge on how to overcome n fight thru it next time i'm faced with the same situation ! But everytime i feel like its too much on me i can feel God's Presence saturating my atmosphere n gracing me with His Spirit !!! And it feels soo good to know that i'm not here all by myself - Because God is always with me !! i feel such a peace that surpasses anyones understanding everytime i feel overwhelmed n just feel like i'm going crazy - God's Grace is always sufficient n He's a very present help in the time of trouble !!! There were times that i have cried n screamed just to stay down here n be obedient n take heed to the voice of the Holy Spirit knowing that God has a plan for my life - Its a reason why i'm down here i don't quite know why yet - but i know i'm in a safe place because the Master designated for me to be here - and i trust Him to reveal to me in due season my duty to do while being here !!! I know as long as i'm with God n forever abiding n yielding to His Still Voice n Following the guidelines in His Word - I'm a Be Alright !!! Be Blessed my Sisters n Brothers in Christ n Remember to Alwayz hear n follow that voice - For it will n shall forever lead you into the Paths of Righteousness!!!
Well said Felicia. Have u met up with the other wives of those that their husbands are serving in the military? Your relationship with the Lord through this will be a source of peace & comfort for them as well. I believe a bible study with other wives is on the horizon for you. May you continue to experience God's Presence.
that is an excellant point woman of god. i have one ? for you and that is, what is the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit that is on the name of all men?
melanie owens, the lords prayer is a guide line for how we should pray. but the word repent means to turn from and if we do not know what out sins are how do we ask for forgiveness and strength as far as how to turn from them. we can not do it alone.
I agree that a person who has the Baptism in the Holy Ghost will have greater strength to withstand temptation but nowhere does it say in the Word of God that a person has to speak out all of their sins in order to receive forgiveness. To repent means to change the way you think & act. We read in the Word of God that talks about confessing is in James 5:16, "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed." 1 John 1:9 tells us "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." To confess in this verse means to acknowledge our sin. Like Chris Overy stated, there are sins we do not recall but in time the Lord will bring them to our rememberance that we can repent. But, I have asked Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, to forgive me of my sins & cleanse me from all unrighteousness and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I AM FORGIVEN!! The Word says in Acts 2:21 "And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved." I have to agree with Melanie-we must not set rules, religion & bondage on people. Jesus Christ came to set the captive free. We are also not to argue the Word of God. If we are truly seeking after Christ Jesus, serving Him with our whole heart & have asked for forgiveness & are seeking to live a life pleasing to Him, we are all going to the same place. May revelation knowledge come to you woman of God.
